Lucity 7.30 Enhancements: Email Notifications

Lucity Version 7.30 includes many improvements for email notifications.  This post is part of a series on the new enhancements for Lucity 7.30, and will cover some of the notification enhancements made in the release.

One of the most noticeable changes for notification configuration is the move from the work system to the common system.  This change allows email notifications to be used across the Lucity software suite.  Users will now access the Notification Setup module under the General menu instead of the Work menu.  A field called Notification Module has been added to classify notifications based on the targeted module.  The record displayed below is a fleet notification. (Fleet notifications are also new for this release.)

In Lucity 7.20, all emails were sent from a single ‘from’ address which was defined in the Lucity System Settings.  For example, an agency may have configured a default sender address of  For 7.30, the sender address is more flexible.  Notifications can now be sent from the System Default, Specified Address, or Current User.  This is configured on a per notification basis.  System Default will use the email address defined in System Settings (the way 7.20 works).  Current User will use the email address defined in the employee module for the employee who triggered the notification.
