During the first quarter of 2016 Esri® released its latest version, 10.4, and a few weeks later Lucity released version 2016. As you are likely aware, Lucity releases two versions a year: one around February the other around August. Esri has also been releasing a couple versions a year.
Just as with the Lucity software, we have some clients that are ready to upgrade their ArcGIS software the first day it is available, and we have other clients that hold off on upgrading until it is an absolute must. Needless to say, it can be a bit overwhelming to keep track of which versions of Lucity are compatible with which versions of ArcGIS. That was until (drum roll please):
You have always been able to refer to our Technical Specs to see what ArcGIS versions are supported for a specific Lucity version, but now we are also providing an ArcGIS Version Support page on our Lucity Support Center. We will be maintaining that page to reflect the most up-to-date information regarding our ArcGIS version support.
So, what about Lucity and ArcGIS 10.4? Lucity 2016 supports ArcGIS for Desktop 10.4. Lucity 2015r2 supports ArcGIS for Desktop 10.4, but just as with any Lucity version released before a major Esri version you will need to obtain an updated config file to resolve a show-in-map issue with Lucity desktop. At this time, ArcGIS for Server 10.4 is not supported with any version of Lucity. We will release another blog post announcing ArcGIS for Server 10.4 support. It is likely that Lucity will not support ArcGIS for Server 10.4, but will support ArcGIS for Server 10.4.1 which is expected to be released later this year.
