ACT Design Challenge>>>
As you know, Lucity has always been willing to listen to your input when it comes to future software design. Many of you can say you’ve had a hand in a feature or two, or even a new product or module. This year we’re taking from the famous “Dreamin’ With Don”sessions a little further. Do you have a brilliant idea you’d like to submit? We’d love to hear it! We’ll review submissions and narrow down the list. Then you get to present your idea to ACT attendees and convince them to vote for yours to be included in a future Lucity release!
Have you heard the news about our new, updated Support Center? Jonathan Semones, Lucity Technical Writer, was instrumental in putting together this new interface designed to make it easier for you to access information about Lucity! In our “What’s New” video this month, Jonathan will take you on a tour of the new site.
Focus On: GIS Web Map Tools>>>
We’re bringing back our “Focus On” feature with the start of a 4-part series on Lucity’s GIS tools. This month, Lucity GIS Support Specialist Melissa Armstrong goes over the tools in the GIS Web Map. This map provides a user-friendly interface to spatially view and interact with your asset and work data. Watch the first part of the series here.
Lucity + Crystal Reports Advanced Training>>>
On July 30th & 31st we’ll be holding an advanced training class for Lucity and Crystal Reports users. You can find out what the course will cover here, and register here when you’re ready. We hope to see you! If you’d like to be notified about future Beginner’s classes, please let us know.
In Case You Missed June’s Looking Into Lucity>>>
Have a suggestion for a topic you’d like to see covered in a future Looking Into Lucity? Let us know!
Today marks the three-year anniversary of the Lucity brand. We have truly fallen in love with all that the new name and corporate identity has come to mean, and we hope you feel the same. In fact, if you ask most of us here at Lucity we’ll tell you it feels like the Lucity brand has been with us much longer than three years…I guess that means it was a perfect fit for us, right?
So happy anniversary to ALL of us in the Lucity family! Here’s to many more years of new friendships, beneficial partnerships, fantastic user events, and successful software development.
We had a little parking lot barbecue to celebrate. Here’s a look at some of the fun…
Our grill master, Joe.
Victoria, Barbara, Deaun and Dale, soaking up the sun.
Look at those happy faces! Andrea, Jason, Jessica, Scott, Greg and Melissa
Brian and Peter, patiently waiting for lunch to be ready.
This game got WAY more intense than expected…
Washers! Such intense looks on their faces…
What form! Trey’s got his eye on the target…
Future’s so bright…. Joel, Don and Jim
Take a look at this month’s events:
Regional User Groups
We’ve only got a few Regional User Group (RUG) meetings left for 2014…and one of them may be in your region! We’ll be heading to the Northeast this week, and then traveling back home to the KC area for our Midwest RUG meeting on the 20th of May. After that we’ll meet with our Central Region users in Kentucky and in Chicago. If you’d like to attend one of these meetings, please register!
Following last month’s What’s New presentation on IPT, we will continue our series on Lucity’s Environmental Compliance modules with a demonstration of the FOG (Fats, Oils and Grease) module. We will be presenting a 15-minute demo, followed by a Q&A session, this Thursday, May 15 at 10:30 am CDT. Registration is required to attend the interactive presentation for “What’s New: Fats, Oils and Grease” and can be done here. If you are unable to attend, you can still register to receive additional information after the event, as well as a link to the recorded video when it is posted.
Taking a Closer Look
This month we will be taking a closer look at a new feature available for our users that supports document uploads from Lucity Web or Lucity Mobile. Watch this short overview of this functionality in “Taking a Closer Look: Document Uploads”. This video is now available here.

Here at Lucity, the notion of “giving back” is a very real concept. It’s something that everyone in the Lucity family shares – a common priority in life, as well as in work. As we move closer to the end of 2013, we’d like to shine a light on some of the other good work that we do – the work that helps those in need. From Don Pinkston’s commitment to give blood regularly in honor of his dad, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, to volunteering at Harvesters (our local food bank), we strive to find ways to help others.
This holiday season we’re able to “adopt” and provide Christmas gifts and groceries for 4 families – one family more than last year! Because 100% of the Lucity staff contributed to this annual cause, Lucity matched a dollar for every dollar given. It’s just another reason why working for Lucity is fulfilling in more ways than one.
Our partnership with Marian Hope Center continues to grow. We were happy to give the Center a financial contribution, as well as to donate some of the office furniture that didn’t come with us in the move this fall. Additional IT services provided by our IT Director, Brian Treff, gave the foundation a further boost.
The holidays are a perfect time for us to reflect on our gratitude. Not only are we thankful for our health and happiness, we continue to be thankful to our clients, and consider it a privilege to work side by side with such great people.
May your holiday season be filled with the spirit of giving – to those you love as well as to those in need.
As many of you may have heard, Lucity has officially moved! Our new residence – doubled in size from our old office – is on the “executive-level” first floor. The Lucity staff was fully involved with the layout and design of the new office, and the result is a brighter, modern, open space for us to do our best work. Our new space allows plenty of room for our growing staff, and includes a new training room, which can be utilized for client training or even Regional User Groups in the future.
If you missed our Open House last month, and would still like to check out our new digs, let us take you on a little tour!
For your records, our new address is 10561 Barkley, Suite 100, Overland Park, KS 66212
